I'll be there for sure. Awesome idea tani.

$50 seems to be the magic number for moderate to advanced stuff. Maybe you could setup different levels of clinics $25 for basic (derailleur adjustment, pad swaps that don't necessitate bleeds), $50 for intermediate (brake bleeds, FD swaps, triple chain ring to double swaps etc etc), and $75-100 for advanced classes (fork oil swaps, installing headsets etc etc)

I think its a great idea, personally, the first class should start off with a generall tune up procedure, derailluer adjsutments, brake adjustments, proper way to check bolts ETC.

Then specific classes can be had for brake bleeds<too may to generalize it in a quick class> They all have a little different procedure to them, so its a single class

Suspension is another single class. Same reason, other than basic maint, all forks and shocks are a little different, but setup would be good to go over with people.

Wheel building.......Well thats a tough one. Unless your getting a specific one on one class, its a tough one to do in one night. Its just not something you can learn in a couple hours. Proper wheel truing would be a better way to go for a clinic.

I would love to attend a class covering wheelbuilding, or fork/shock servicing and rebuilding. I think this is a great idea, and I would be happy to pay to have an opportunity to learn these things under a trained eye.

Couldn't have posted it better myself - other than to say I would even make the drive for it.

I don't need a wheel building class since I don't have space for truing station nor the patience......plus path has pretty good price on wheel builds.

Can I just get discount and free food?

Oh and I'll hang out and harass everyone......that sounds like a good time!

    Great idea, Tani.

I for one need to learn the finer points of rear derailleur/shifting set-up and adjustments... that has always been a weak spot doing my own wrenching.

This would be great! I would love to understand and be able to fix and not have to depend on having someone riding with me to be knowledgeable or drag the bike to your mechanics.

Several months late, but did this ever come to fruition? I'm really interested in the wheel building classes, too.

    Move aside everyone!

Multiple day wheel building/ beer exchange and BBQ competition class, Where do I send the funds?

Basic tune-up class gets the big NO. Lets aim for the stars.

+3 on Waldo's posts. I am new to disc brakes this year, and would attend either an advanced workshop (have the basics covered), or component specific would be great. Thanks.
