That comment was more about FB and why you left, but I won't go into that. I just mentioned STR cause others have left STR because of the same reasons you left FB, but whatever. I've seen hundreds if not thousands come and go here and I'm still here and have not abandoned my post. I'm hopeful that this gets fixed as it has in the past, just seems this time, it feels different than the other times STR got hacked.

Gene, I can't speak for everyone, but I fully appreciate you and Dino for staying around. The dedication that you and the other mods (and even past mods) have is admirable. Your Warrior name should be something more reflective of your perseverance, loyalty, and unwavering dedication to riding trails. Seriously, the position of mod is not only a frequently thankless job, but often the subject of scrutiny and peer-inflicted emotional distress. Don't I owe you a beer? Maybe I'll even get one for Dino. But, not for Fred (I think he prefers whiskey).

As for the "days end" feel of this thread, we're 10 pages in. I think that is a testament to the dedication that we all have in the success of the forum. Better is the other threads that are popping up. You know the ones where I only lurk and don't post. (heeheehee) *hugs* to all, we are one big ole happy family of dysfunctional peeps (winky face).

Its a website, nothing more, nothing less. Great friends for sure. But Im quite ok wirh meeting people on the trail as well. I'm pretty sure we will all be fine. If George is over it, let it be. As far as his vendors, thats between them and $$$.

 

I fly home tomorrow morning, can pick up some cold ones and make it Friday Would be absolutely no assistance but disruptive cheer-leadering.

Seriously tho - through the years, hack after hack (most special was the one the day before the final announce on the WLC a few years ago - I was on vacation and beer was consumed in measurable quantities, moving me down the leader board...was worth every sip!) I love you all and would be at such a loss without this group.

Even if this site was just a text forum, I'm here to stay, lurk, vent, post rides, attend rides, and trail work days, etc.

Whatever you do, wherever you all go...I will follow and post - or meet up with banana bread and monster cookies to fatten you all up and slow you down

I haven't posted on this thread because I've been busy doing what I normally do on STR - post a few of my own threads, starting debates, settling debates, trying to spread stoke, being a smarta#s, commenting on WC DH and whatnot. 10 pages of apocalypse? Adapt and overcome I say. See you on the other threads - this one needs to close. Oh - and thanks to Gene and Dino for keeping the faith and doing your thing. I'll keep on posting here as long as something works.

Update:

1. REAL progress has been made- Hooray!
(Chatbox, Classified section, Events etc.)

2. Additional improvements are on the way!

3. My threat worked like a charm... LOL!
(camping outside George's front door / ringing doorbell for 10 hours)

4. Damage done to the site was more extensive than (I) imagined.
I do NOT care to elaborate (thanks George for bringing clarity to this situation)

5. This "incident" happened at the WORST possible time for George!
(NO excuse for his disappearance. I have LESS anger now knowing his side of the story)

6. George is fully aware of... EVERYTHING!
(people's displeasure, offers to purchase, PM's that have been sent to me... EVERYTHING! Do not send me any additional PM's. Do not PM George. If he chooses to contact "you" he will)
