Selling my Rock Shox Pike Team fork, very plush and stiff fork. Hate to sell it but I need the money. Uses the 20mm "Maxle" which is as easy to use as a regular quick release. Has adjustable travel (u-turn) from 95-140mm and has compression/lockout/floodgate/rebound adjustments. Steerer tube length is 7 1/2". Fork weight including the Maxle is 4.96lbs. No major/deep scratches, fork is in excellent working condition. Asking $260obo. Will take a better pic tonight of the fork after work.

    What do you tihnk?

Rob, you think that large of a fork will thow the geometry off on my bike. I've been thinking of the Reba as well. Any thoughts?

    Re: What do you tihnk?

Well the nice thing about the Pike is you can crank down the travel to whatever you want it at, so geometry really isn't much of an issue. You would however need a new front hub/wheel for the 20mm axle.

Pat, check out www.greenfishsports.com and look up the Manitou forks. They should suit you just fine, I think you can pick one up for around 200 bucks or so.

Seems like the best deals they have there are the Manitou Blacks. Any opinions on them? What about a Skareb?

    Pat,

For $260 Rob's PIKE would be an insane pick up! He has had nothing but good things to say about it and I think it would be a great fork for you. It would be MILES ahead of those Manitous at Greenfishsports.com. I'd seriously look into the PIKE. That fork brand new cost over $450.00, and Rob always takes good care of his bike stuff, you can't go wrong with it. :D

    Well..

I was seriously thiking to do it. But it's sold and I would also have to buy a new front hub (not that big of a deal - $80?). I'm not planning on picking up another Manitou unless it's the new R7. Any thoughts? I'm really trying to get Adrenaline bikes to give me a good deal on a RS Reba. Rob, your pike had U-Turn right, was that rather handy or more of a gimmick? I rode a MKIII at supergo with the Reba and it felt rather nice, and light too.

Sorry, Rob for posting on your for sale thread. What a jerk I am. I really don't feel bad, but trying to keep good forum etiquette by apologizing. Did it work?

Give me a PM if you'd rather not discuss in the thread.

Pat, what are your plans with your hardtail? Do you still plan on getting a full suspension frame later on? You really need to base your fork buying decision upon that. A Reba might be ok for your hardtail, but if you get a 5-6" travel trail bike later on the Reba might feel a bit short. Yes my Pike (now EndoMaster's) had u-turn, it works very well but is kind of tedious compared to ETA of Marzocchi. The good thing about the u-turn is you still have a compliant fork with the travel cranked down, with the ETA locked down you pretty much have a rigid fork. There are positives to both systems, I just prefer ETA since I either want the fork fully extended or locked down. If you were to get say an AM1 I would opt for the 110-130mm version because the 130-150 would slacken your bike out too much making climbing harder.

BTW: your apology for all of the off topic B.S in my for sale thread is not accepted, let this be your lesson [-X

Well, I haven’t forgotten about the FS. I’m still planning to get one sometime in the near future. I still want to keep the HT though and make it a pretty nice ride. So, this fork will be staying on the Hardtail indefinitely. I agree with the AM1 being too much travel for the HT and that I would need to go with the SL(?) 110-130mm. I’ll have to look into it. Can you not lock the Reba out though and have it at whichever travel you want?
