NIce. Ti bikes are awesome. I am still riding my 1990 Merlin-21 years and counting. I hope yours lasts as long.
My neighbor skflow just built up a Selma too. I think he said he's $4K into it so far. For a single speed. Dayum.
Super nice Dean. I am on a Moto Fly Ti 29er and just love it. You will have many years of riding on that beast cheers!!
Dean, I'm gonna put a little twist to your classic reply to new bike posts... "New Ti bikes are fun." Congrats. You probably got yours several months after I bought this frame from the hanger at The Path. I love this bike.
That bike is beautiful! Thanks for sharing! Please keep us posted on how it rides compared to your Niner. I, too, am looking to upgrade my '05 Niner SS sometime this next year, and I'd be interested to hear how the Ti compares to the Scandium. Thanks. Happy riding!
i shall call it; The Noog Slayer. congrats on the new rig, and i dig the shots overlooking C******* B**.
Nice bike dad. Ti...muy sexy. Can you run the Alfine on that again? Someone said new bikes are fun?
Yes alfine will work. Selma will be my bike packing bike and Brian has ordered me a derailure hanger so I can run gears in the back. But it was a mistake for me not to have a SS around. If it has gears I will use them and I lost a bunch of strength riding geared bikes only. Did not loose any endurance but when I got back on the SS after a year off I could not climb hills on the SS that where once easy. I was once at 32x18 gearing and now I am 32/22 and struggling. Won't do that again.
Dean - this is very interesting. I was wondering how you pedaled all those miles you ride, most with sustained ups - on a SS. I borrowed a SS (32 x 19 I think - 29r), I rode whiting for the first time out and was SHOCKED at what I could clean and now have silly delusions of going back and other places to try it. And this was after coming off a cold for 3+weeks and not riding much. My gears and I have a very close loving relationship...I love em! But now I can see how having a SS around can make you so much stronger. Even had Maple Springs go through my head as one to try - think I'll need a shuttle up the pavement though. That bike you have there is beautiful, simple and elegant - would just make you want to head out and pedal. ENJOY!
That's a great looking SS Ti 29er. Love your taste in components and cockpit setup! Salsa knows their 29er stuff and Ti makes it even better! Sweet! I would love to read your 1st RR on this sweet lookin' rig.
That SS thing is really tempting - looks are everything and she's a beauty - darn you Dean you've got my "wheels" spinning now!
