I heard that Dean (exrcyst) took a bad spill with head injuries at Whiting this morning and had to be taken from the park. I don't have any info beyond that yet, but best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Healing vibes Dean.... http://lakeforest-ca.patch.com/articles/firefighters-attempting-santiago-canyon-rescue A 40-year-old mountain biker is being treated at Mission Hospital after being injured from a fall on Cactus Hill Trail near Santiago Canyon Road inside Whiting Wilderness Park. The man suffered a head injury and broken arm and was air-lifted to Mission Hospital, said Orange County Fire Authority spokesman Jon Muir. Firefighters were called at 9:48 a.m. by cell phone with seven people including other mountain bikers around the injured man, Muir said. Rescuers used a Kawasaki Mule offroad vehicle, ground crews and a helicopter to reach the man. "It was very difficult to get to that location," Muir said. The victim was airlifted around 10:50 a.m., the spokesman said.
hate to hear this...head injuries...truly hope the helmet lived up long enough to do it's job. Is it time we make a STR helmet fund for those who have to go to the hospital?? Heal up..fast!!!
Oh man, I can't believe it! I just rode those trails with him a few days ago. I hope you're okay and have a speedy recovery.
Oh crap - hate to hear that. Interesting how good riders can survive all the tough stuff, only to eat it hard on something flowy. Best wishes for a quick return to form.
