I have been progressively slower since switching to gears, so I have decided to make the switch back to SS. I was able to get my XTC to SS with just a half link. I rode it today O how I have missed the Simplicity, Smoothness, Speed, and aweSomeneSS. I am looking forward to the few races left this year.

3X crank. Gearing is what i found best for me last year 32x19. RaceFace chainring, Chris King cog KMC 8spd chain with halflink I really wanted to get this but no way to justify the cost.

we need to ride again david.

I have been "feeling my oats" last few ride's everything feels right again. I have Brownie to thank for this we were talking bikes and he told me to make the bike work for me. Which sounds obvious but I thought that I would be able to adapt to the gears and be faster. I don't know what my glitch is but I never seemed to get it right.

Everyone's different as far as set up goes. Example: 3 guys will pick 3 diff chainrings for a 1 x 10. Use what works best for you--you've always struck me as having great sprinting talent which I think the SS benefits from. I'm loving my 1 x 10--it's stretching me to carry momentum and push harder gears. I used to keep shifting lower and lower on climbs rather than power up and push through it. Enjoy the new mods!
