Announcing the launch of BicycleMob.com – There’s Power in Numbers.

Some of you are aware that we have been working internally on a new project at Jenson USA for some time now, BicycleMob.com. I am excited to share that we'll be launching on Monday, February 4th.

BicycleMob.com even has an STR connection - the visual design work was done by STR member and rider "Robo".

Here's the scoop (note: all URLs will not work until site goes live...)

What is BicycleMob?
BicycleMob delivers one amazing deal on bike gear every day, with a twist - the more buyers, the lower the price! The price continues to fall as more cyclists join the Mob. Check it out at http://www.BicycleMob.com, starting on Monday, February 4th.

How does it work?
Each Mob (item of the day) starts at 6am PST. When a new Mob begins, we'll show you the starting price, as well as the price drops that will take place as more people join the Mob.

Completing checkout locks in your item. Then it’s up to you – share the deal with your friends, cycling team, co-workers, or club using Facebook, Twitter, email, etc. The more people you bring to the Mob, the lower the price will fall.

At 2pm PST (or sooner, if an item sells out) the Mob ends. Everyone pays the Mob’s lowest price (yes, that means you could order an item, and end up paying even less than you agreed to!)

We then send email confirmations and ship the goods, the same day (or on the next business day, for Mobs that end on the weekend or holidays).

How can I get the BicycleMob deal every day?
First, visit the site and enter your email address where it says “Sign up for new Mob Emails”. We’ll send you the deal each morning. Second, make sure to “like” BicycleMob on Facebook, we’ll post the deal there daily too.

I don’t trust new, unknown online sellers
That’s understandable. Here’s some info to set your mind at ease.

JKing. Seriously now, it's a new website that is more like a deal of the day site, that's run by JensonUSA employees, out of the same warehouse, and likely using JensonUSA inventory and capital. Adds sort of a group-on element to it, with a JensonUSA twist to it, with the ship same day thing. I imagine that they just forklift a pallet full of the current Bicyclemob.com item over to the packing area, and have packers pick and pack orders themselves, to have piled into a cart ready for UPS to load up at the end of the day to be shipped same day, hence the 2 P.M. end time.

They could've made it like theClymb.com, where you can pick many items, which ship after the deals expire (I believe that's how theclymb works), but I picture this as being like their "12 days of Christmas", only maybe every business day and unable to combine with anything else. Can only speculate without the details. Local pickup may or may not be an option early on. Can't expect too much too soon.

Exactly! Today's deal is a T-shirt. Really? Are you effing kidding me? Fingers crossed that future deals will be great.

 

Yes "weak'. And I for one am not going to buy any item until the lowest price has been reached. Who are the guys willing to pay more? I fore see a quick end or a big change.

I want to see 2-3x deals per day and some riding gear.

EDIT: Why not 3-5 items per day on the same page?

 

If you buy it at $100, and the price drops to $60, you pay the lower price of $60. Everyone winds up paying the same amount
