So sad to see an Owl that has died. Owls and Raptors in general fascinate me. Majestic birds they are!! Wonder if the Owl perished due to West Nile Disease?

    For you, nailknot.

Came upon this huge beauty sitting on Trabuco Creek Road. He flew up and perched on the cliff until I walked close by. Huge yellow hooked bill. A sight to behold taking flight; dwarfs a large redtail.

Very healthy diamondback sunning on the trail. He wasn't too happy to see me, but I got him safely back into the brush so he wouldn't get run over!

So I have ridden the Santa Ana mountain plenty... but Monday night I was on STT on the way to the Luge just after the step over bar on the decent to puke hill, I was surprised by a little fox... which of course proceeded to run in front of me along the trail like a blond in a bad horror film for at least 50-75 yards. Never seen one before.

Pretty much look like this .... saw his face for a glimpse then followed that black furry tail...maybe a Gray Fox... thata a pic of a kit, but this Fox was not real big either but not a Kit.

I saw two bobcats in Oaks this morning, but couldn't get a clear pic. That's a nice shot!
