And how can you 'not believe"t hat a shop could be culpable of making a mistake or 10? what are they, invincible and perfect? come on....I have had much better track records at other shops, just not here in OC. I like the Path. I do...I just think that they need to make some changes before people stop going there on a regular basis for repairs etc. I don't trust the work at this point.

That's a bit of a strong statement for one bad experience don't you think? I've been going there for over 3 years and have had nothing but great experiences with their work. Sometimes I wish the turnaround was faster, but the work and advice is unmatched in OC.

if their work is unmatched I would hate to see what poor work is.

Well, to counter your example - I just had my bike serviced and could not be more pleased. I made an appointment, took it in the day before and met with the mechanic. He spent a good 20 minutes with me discussing what my issues were, what problems I was noticing, etc. While I was inquiring about perhaps getting new bars so that I could sit more upright, he discovered 4 small cracks in my stem that I had not even noticed. The mechanic then proceeded to show me new stem and bar combos that he could install to both correct the issue and assist with getting me more upright in the saddle. I am glad he took the time to not only notice the problem (ahead of me losing my bars going down Rock It), but to also recommend a replacement and install based on how I wanted to sit in the saddle. He also spotted me a discount on both the new bar and stem, knowing that this was going to be an unexpected expense from the service I was initially in to have completed. My bike was ready the next day, new bars, new stem, new brake and shifter cables, brake bleeds both front and back and the mid level tune up. My bike has never felt more dialed in. Much better service and results than I have received from other LBS that are closer to my home. I know all experiences differ and it sounds as if mine was much more pleasant than those you have mentioned.

    The PATH rocks!
I wnet in ot get my Speshy Enduro Suspension serviced and have a set of wheels laced up for it and received what I would say was "royal treatment" from Brandi and Steve. They knew I would be without a ride for a while so they loaned me nice Camber 29" so I don't get fat (fatter?) while my bike is being finished. I like the treatment so well I went back 2 weeks later and ordered a new Intense 29 Tracer from them. I DRIVE FROM MURRIETA TO GO TO THE PATH! It seems there may be many great shops but this one is the Greatest!

I wanted to pile on some more love for the Path. I have a friend that was looking for a new bike. After talking over his options he was pretty set on a FS 29er but not too sure what model. I sent him over to the Path and asked Neil to take care of him. My buddy walked out with a new Specialized Epic 29er. They could have talked him into spending more money but Neil took the time to make sure he knew how my friend rode, where he rode, etc. Let him try a couple different models and truly made sure he ended up on the right bike. My friend called me up after buying the bike to thank me for the referral - he's stoked on the new bike and the treatment he received at the Path.

    Thanks guys.

Changed view point of the path. I know I left a very angry and bad review before.....and I normally stick to my 3 strikes rule, but I figured I would give it one last shot. Went in to pick up some goodies, and Service was great!

Neil and Brian were both awsome, I have since been back and had the same experience so I now give them the thumbs up, keep up the good work guys.

So a couple weeks ago I got a smokin deal on a 2009 frame and some cranks the guys over at The Path put on their clearance thread. In scrambling to piece the rest of the bike together I was having a hard time figuring out why my new xt 10 speed front deraileur was not clearing the largest chain ring. I took it to my local bike shop in Downey and the mechanic was stumped as well because we understood we had everything we needed for the install with the correct deraileur.

I paid The Path a visit (30 miles away). After about an hour of letting them tinker with it, Neil and his crew discovered that I needed a different deraileur. No charge for installing it and Neil saved me $50 by swaping out the deraileur I had brought in that I didn't even purchase there.

If that isn't good customer service than what is?

Thanks guys! Keep the deals coming!

The one time I went to the Path I was ignored then finally treated rudely by some wanna-be know it all.
Also have received some lame comments from some Path employees here.
As far a the Path having the best service in Orange County lets just say that is
a huge exaggeration of epic proportions.

A perfect example of why I would not go to the Path again is in their "best prices and cheap" thread .
In an attempt to be the bigger man and give the shop a second chance.
I asked a couple questions about some cranks they were trying to sell only to be ignored !
That is the epitome of lousy customer service.
Confirming my first impression of the shop and employees .
Me I recommend not drinking the cool-aid and giving the smaller more deserving shops your buisness.
They need it and In my experience appreciate your buisness more!

Oh so now the Path resorts to name calling and making libelous comments .
Sorry I must of missed the STR rule that say I must kiss the Paths ass and worship the ground they walk on
and oh yes we must take everything they say as the gospel truth.
    More cool-aid please........chants the masses !

I am not the only person on STR to have a bad experience at the path bike shop.
Do I stalk the path on the internet as asserted here ? Hell no !
Do I voice my opinion when I come across post that say the path can do no wrong and are the best bike
shop in all the land. Hell yes!
STR is the only contact I have with these ah....... people . I won't lower my self to the same level .

I have a right to express my opinions even if they disagree with you and your minions.
I even offered to make amends with you guys and you chose to ignore it.
STR is not "your buisness" . I strongly suggest you read the terms/ conditions of being a member here before
you continue with your name calling and libelous statements.
I guess the truth is too painful for you and you can't control your emotions.
I understand I have a four year old boy.

In all honesty you sound a little too bitter over something so trivial. My advice when walking into any shop and looking for information is to ASK someone rather than be unhappy about how they didnt come to you. Have a beer and relax man.

Let me make this clear: Falconer, you are not welcome at The Path.

I do not see a need for further discussion of this topic.

You have said your bit and I have said mine.
