    Not a bad pose......

Too much fun, saw lots of familiar, friendly (and some not so hospitable8-[) faces. Got a great little loop ride in with a new buddy, spent more than I made, and still managed to squeeze in nine baskets before sundown:bang:. Did not find some things I was specifically looking for, but then again did not have any hot dogs left this time either:lol:.

Godfather, and all the users (and us abusers:eek:) who make this community whole, my hats off to you.

There used to be a place where you can order jerseys, but not anymore on STR. Its my understanding the (online) store has been down for awhile. I'm not sure why...:?:

I almost didn't make it...rolled out bright and early at 11am and headed over to the courthouse all suited up to get a couple laps in and maybe stop by the swapmeet to see if i could find that elusive ss 29er wheelset i'm still looking for...yeah, that didn't quite happen...but i did score an STR jersey (finally got one!), a new brakeset (thanks for the deal graves.z), and a rigid niner fork so i can now suffer just as much as davidB! And now i have something to do while it's raining the next few days...other than still try to find a wheelset...

Great seeing everybody out there yesterday morning! How many easy-ups did we have out there? 3? 5? Serously, Pato should just open up hos own shop or something, the guy's got more bike parts to sell than some of us have ever even owned! Lots of the regular suspects that i never get to ride with often enough...I don't think i'd seen george or guero for months! Plenty of new faces out there too, which was great to see. Sorry i missed the Heroes group afterword, i had no idea it was already as late as it was and had to roll to south county...

And i never did get in a ride!

    Observations...

I felt as though this years event lost a bit of that special charm.
The main reason (for me) was that everyone was sooo spread out!
One guy was selling in this row, two guys in this row. Ten guys in this row etc.

I think a SELLER'S ROW would benefit us in many ways:
    1) Buyers could browse in one small area
    2) Sellers will have higher traffic
    3) Easier for STR members to "bump-into" each other
    4) Easier for the NEW GUYS to meet people

    Just a thought!
A dialog (on how we could improve the NEXT Swap Meet) would be most appreciated!

great idea dino. might be a good idea to screengrab an overhead shot of the lot and then we can mark up the sellers row area. im guessing the row that butts up against the curb area would be prime. we could have a couple volunteers get there early and direct those people who are selling to that area.

:clap:that sounds great. a little bit more organized would of been great, escpecially for the ones selling. then we could still sell and be close enough to see what eveyone else has to sell.. im still curious to see when the next one is. that was fun

I assure you, NO ONE knew we would have sooo many people.

I arrived 40 minutes before the swap meet began... The parking lot was already full!
It took me 5 minutes to figure-out everyone was there for the SWAP MEET!

Trust me! The next swap meet will be better organized!
I would shoot for Summer! We could have it coincide with a group ride! Our members can decide that at a later date!

did you ever find that beer you were looking for? :drunk:

and yeah +1 on organizing it better. I was slightly taken aback when I realised how many people were there for the swapmeet, considering the amount that was at the last one.

Looking for the Orange Schwinn. I was there and saw a bike for my daughter. I spoke with you and the price was 80 dollars. I came back and you had packed up. Still available? Thanks, Sean

great swap meet! didn't expect to see soo many people. got my bike dialed in by pato, handles much much better now, thanks a bunch! also got two 2.5" and 2.3 tires. saw some familiar faces disco and autoduel. very good turn out.

but it was very hard to shop around. there were too many 'shops' spread out throughtout the parking lot. maybe next time, it should be in one area; maybe the corner. maybe some food, heard some people complaining about being hungry. i know disco was bbq'ing, but wasn't sure if he was sharing lol. this was my third str swap meet and it was a blast! but i didn't get to meet a lot of people like i wanted to... eh next time. thanks str and everybody that came!

Sorry to have missed out! We were stuck in Brea; our schedule took a bit longer than usual, so we ended up missing the whole thing! :(

Thanks for sharing the pics though, nice to share the event that way, too!!!
