^^ Ha! I thought that was YOU messing about, Dave. I saw yesterday that there were all these pages with lots of GPS type markers and just thought you must have been up to something. I'm sure that no one is trying to mess things up. I note that you got to the point of having a header on how to add points to the map on your instructions sheet. Perhaps if you finish that up, folks will have an easier time.

As for me, I added a placemark yesterday for the Encinal section of the Backbone trail system. I just went in and tried to find it (on page one as well as page two...), and it is not there, so I think I could still use some help on the placement of markers...

But, above all alse, THANKS FOR DOING THIS!! It's really a great resource (but obviously needs to be kept up so that issues don't render it useless...).

Yeah sorry shudder, the restore point was from about 6 days ago.
I've written a script that runs daily to download the KML file from google and saves it. This way I can go back and see when the problem occurred and restore from that point.

With a crontab entry on my home Mac to run it daily at 12:01am

The easier method would be to download the kml file and use google earth to simply remove the false markers and re-upload... however you can't select multiple placemarks at the same time and manipulate them... ahh google you kill me sometimes.

I'm in the process of making some major changes, creating a Southern Cali and a NorCal map and splitting off all the placemarks. I may lock this down for editing until i can get those two maps completed

Excellent work on the cron job. I can't believe you can't command+select a bunch and get rid of them in one fell swoop. Ahhhhh.

No worries. It just occurred to me that I should pace some of my local area THs onto the map, so tried to do that, and failed. I'll wait for you to update this thread before moving forward with any of that.

    Thanks again, Dave.
