I just did Loch Leven to Angelus Oaks yesterday. Can't comment on the actual SART, but weather was great, just a touch cool on the descent. And the gnats are out in force, so highly recommend a bug net.

SART expedition with Kasel/Troupe/Non-Dot group...did most of it from South Fork down to Redlands Airport...skipped the Post Office Loop by climbing out Middle Control and then picking it up again above Angelus Oaks.

Some moisture still in the trail before Middle Control and two downed trees across the trail, not dusty at all and in great shape. I was riding sweep behind 9 other riders and there weren't any flies or dust in the air in the am. Good traction, but its going to get really dry quickly. Past that, everything is fun, flow, green, blooming, but starting to get brown and dusty towards the fire road down to Morton Peak climb.

This was our first time descending from Morton Peak, but conditions still seemed good...the sections of kitty litter can't get any better (or worse).

All-in-all, I'd say that if there's any rain this week, it'll extend the low-dust qualities or another few weeks.

Anyone know if the trail is open, or accessible after the fire?

It's open. The fire never crossed the hwy so trail is in as good of shape as can be expected this time of year (at least the part I did a couple weeks ago). The only section that might not be open is past Southfork which most people don't ride anyways.

We did SART from South Fork down to Middle Control Road a few weeks ago as part of the Grizzly 100. The trail is dry and pretty beat up, but 100% ridable.

It's great. The creek crossing has a new benched timber to cross, very cool.
Was out there this past Saturday. Enjoy, I always do.
