The time has come and we are getting many new 2013 Giant bikes.
My questions to all my STR family friends: do I build up this one or wait till the Glory 0 to arrive??

But the purple pedals are a must!

I'm guessing that's not their flagship model, so I'd wait. But I'll stop by tomorrow to check this one out.

Giant changed the headtube angle making it a static 63.5. Which is 2 degrees slacker than the previous glory. The new geo puts it inline with other race bikes numbers. It shouldn't clunk because you don't have to run an angle set to have a slacker head angle.

I did the "extreme" parking lot test on that baby yesterday and it felt just like home. So warm and fuzzy....

    Frame only please. ;)

Like Shitty, I also did the extreme parking lot run and hit a few gaps. Bike feels good! I'm diggin' the new geometry. Although l would opt for the frame only, at $3150, the complete bike shown above costs less than the other frame I was considering!

Yeah the medium glory mike has in stock on the floor is an excellent value for what you get. It is also less than the price of an upcoming new frame I'm going to acquire sooner or later (Probably later because it'll be sometime before I can use it). I did an in store test ride and you can definitely tell that it has a longer wheelbase than the previous model. Tempting...

So I think I will do a frame build.
Here is my plan because I must be one up on Lee. Have you ever seen his builds? OVER THE TOP~

    2013 Giant Glory Frame
    FOX 40 fork
    Thompson Stem
    Easton carbon bars
    Full 2013 Saint
    King HS,
    Thompson Seat post
    Hadley Hubs
envy carbon hoops to top it off
    And the Plastic purple pedals!
    YEAH!

What you got Lee....?/ Just for the record even if my bike is sicker than Lee's he will still crush all of us!

Mike the only difference in my build would be no seat post, cause I would stand up and hammer the whole time :D

Mike, I think that's three up on what I may do! I have twins turning 1 year old next week and a home remodel going on now, so I'm on a budget...of sorts.

I thought about going with Enve rims as a gift to myself for doing a lot of the remodel work myself, but when I look at the MSRP of around $1k each, I can destroy a lot of DT EX500 rims and probably still come out ahead (the EX500 rims are only about 50 grams more than the Enve DH rims).

I'm debating on the fork. I'd like to try a Boxxer World Cup, but I haven't ridden a current Boxxer that I like, so I'm a bit reluctant. You can't go wrong with a 40 and Saint stuff.

Do you have experience with both of those, including the '13 40? If so, could you explain the difference between the '12 and '13 models, other than what their website says? Just curious, as I haven't ridden one of the 13' models yet.

I haven't ridden an avalanche cartridge that was really worth a damn, although it may have been that the owners couldn't set them up. Also, that company seems pretty flaky, based on my previous attempts of working with them.

Those enve rims are so sick! But hard to justify the cost. I think the 2012 fox 40 with the rc2 is the same as the 2013 model. I could be wrong, may be some slight changes. I am very interested in the 40 RAD that's suppose to come out sometime next year. That and the DVO suspension dual crown are what I'm looking forward to trying out.

Also I just noticed this glory frame is priced about $100 lower than last years. Maybe because it doesn't have an angleset in this kit. Lower price and no angleset is very welcome.
