Hey guys - just moved to Ladera Ranch last weekend and I heard there is a quick loop (single track) - Ladera Ranch Ridge Trail or something, searching it online and I see a cool single track video back in 2012 I think.

Just want to know if there is one where do you get in and is it a loop? I am by O'Niel/Dorrance - so any Ladera Ranch riders around here that could point me to the right direction would be awesome!

    Thanks again!

Hey Ron, welcome to the neighborhood. The singletrack is on the ridge along Antonio. People refer to it as Ladera Ridge or South Chiquita Ridge. It starts as a fire road behind the apt building by Jerry's Dogs and turns into a singletrack that will take you out to Oso Pkwy. You can combine that with the fireroad that starts near you at O'Neil and Cecil Pasture for a 15 mile loop. I'd show you around, but recently dislocated my shoulder and will be off the bike for a bit. pm me your number and I can connect you with some of my local riding buddies. Hope this helps.

thanks Kingaucho - can't wait to hit that trail up and I knew I would find someone here who knows the trails - sorry to hear about your shoulder (GWS) - wow it goes up to 15 miles? I was thinking it was like 6 mile loop (just like whiting ranch) - thats great news! gotta explore I guess - I am fine with like a good fun run like 6 miles or so just after work. Rough climb? Great DH?

    Thanks again for the info..

You can connect Ladera all the way up through Tijeras Creek, then into O'Neill, all the way up to the wash and into the Santa Ana's, or connect to Caspers to San Juan. PM Wizard (Steve Perless), he's lives very close to Ladera and is an awesome trail guide and knows all the ins and outs of most trails. Our most favorite line 'We've been lost here before!'

    Hey Ron,
I'm Simon and neighbors with kingaucho.
We usually do weekday morning loop rides from 6am (about an hour ride).
He sent me your number and I will contact you to set something up this week.

Welcome to the 'hood. Lots of trails nearby - nothing too technical, but you can make some big loops from here with very little pavement - into the Santa Anas or over to Whiting/Luge. My go-to is a loop of Arroyo Trabuco into O'Neill, returning on Tijeras Creek, sometimes adding in Ladera Ridge for a little extra credit.

PM me and I'll be happy to ride, if you can handle going slow.
