I'm looking to buy bike related products that are made by companies that reside in California... could we start a list of local bike companies? Example Hadley hubs made in upland/ca Intense bikes... temecula/ca please add to this:bang:
Chumba- Anaheim Felt- Irvine Foes- Pasadena AtomLab- Santa Clarita Fox Racing--?? Hoss Clothing- Anaheim Oakley Troy Lee
.... bike related products that are made by companies that reside in California. Only a few products are "made in CA" The ones I know for sure is Intense Hadley Ventana Foes??:?: I think so Turners are made in Oregon.. Chumba, Niner in Taiwan.....and Fox and others are manufactured overseas
As someone who owns a machine shop in So Cal ....... I like this thread. Heck, I am just happy to buy bike stuff that's made in the USA. SRAM is not in So Cal but is USA made. All of my frames are USA made with only one made outside of So Cal. What about KORE? They are in da OC right?
Made is USA is important to me, but it's also important that the MONEY made stays local, or at least stays in the USA. Presumably, the money made from Marzocchi goes back to Italy? I'm sure some one will correct me if that's not true. Whereas profits from US companies that manufacture overseas, like Azonic, stays here in the US of A?
My understanding I think Sram stuff is made overseas. Same with Crank Bros, most Chumbas, Kore, Felt, 661, and Oakly are all made overseas. These are cool CA based companies with good products, but they are not made "in house" Bianchi, Haro, KHS, and Diamond Back are also CA companies with Asian manufacturing. Marzocchi's US distribution is in CA, but they used to be made in Itally. As of 2008 even MArzocchi's high end forks are made in Asia. Turner is based in CA, and manufactured by a very respectable factory in the Pac North West. Ellsworth is based in Ramona, CA and manufactured in the Ellsworth factory in WA USA. White Industries, Intense, Foes, Ventana, Siren bikes, Hadley, Fox forks and rear shocks, Paul componenents are all manufactured in house in CA. Chris King started out in CA, but moved to the Pac North West. Speedplay and Niterider are Also both CA based, and I think they both manufacture in house, but I'm not sure. Denis Duty Fabrications is a nice little outfit in Tustin. One guy, making very funtional steel bikes out of his garage in Tustin.
